AfterMeet ("AfterMeet", "we", "us") is a business networking service that connects people who met at the same business event, through private groups. AfterMeet is operated by TEQNEIA ICT, a company registered in the Arab Republic of Egypt under commercial registration no. 83075, with its registered address at Building 6, Office 4, Beverly Hills, Giza, Egypt (the data controller).
This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal data when you use the AfterMeet website at aftermeet.ing, the web app, and the AfterMeet mobile apps (together, the "Service").
We process personal data in line with the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020 ("PDPL") and its executive regulations, and, where it applies to you, the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").

| Comply with law and respond to lawful requests from authorities | Legal obligation |
No data selling: We do not sell your personal data, use it for third-party advertising, or make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Who can see your data
Members of your groups: Your name and profile are visible to members of the groups you have joined, and only to them. Groups are not connected to each other. You control whether your mobile number and email are visible; if hidden, members can still reach you by in-app chat or your WhatsApp username, if you add one.
Group owners: Group owners can see the member list of groups they own, basic join statistics, and can remove members or moderate messages in their groups.
Service providers (processors): That help us run the Service, bound by data processing agreements and only allowed to use data on our instructions:
| Provider type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| OVHcloud (Poland, EU) | Servers, database, file storage |
| Zoho | OTP and service emails |
| Google Firebase Cloud Messaging | Push notifications |
| Apple App Store, Google Play, Paymob, PayPal, Stripe | Subscription payments |
| TEQ-Watch (operated in-house by TEQNEIA ICT) | Crash reports and aggregated usage statistics |
Authorities: Where required by applicable law or a valid legal order.
Business transfers: If Teqneia is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, your data may be transferred, and we will notify you beforehand.
When you leave a group, other members can no longer see your profile through that group. Information members saved outside AfterMeet (for example, a contact saved to their phone or a WhatsApp chat) is outside our control.
5. Messages and data retention
Messages are kept on our servers for a maximum of 15 days from the time they are sent, then permanently deleted, including voice notes and attachments. Copies already delivered to a recipient's device may remain on that device until the recipient deletes them or the app clears them.
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Group and one-to-one messages, voice notes, attachments | 15 days from sending |
| Account and profile data | While your account is active |
| Deleted accounts | Removed from active systems within 30 days; from backups within 90 days |
| OTP codes | 10 minutes |
| Security and access logs | 12 months |
| Subscription, payment and reward-points records | 5 years, as required by Egyptian tax and accounting law |
| Abuse reports | 12 months after resolution, or longer if needed for a legal claim |
When retention ends, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymized.
6. International transfers
Our servers are hosted by OVHcloud in the European Union (Poland), which is subject to the GDPR's data protection standards. Personal data of users in Egypt is therefore transferred from Egypt to the EU, and our team in Egypt accesses it to operate and support the Service. We carry out these transfers only with the safeguards required by law: the authorization or license required by Egypt's Personal Data Protection Center for cross-border transfers, and Standard Contractual Clauses between us and our EU hosting provider for data accessed from Egypt. Some of our other providers, such as payment providers in the United States, may process data in other countries under equivalent safeguards.
7. Security
We protect your data with measures appropriate to the risk, including:
- •Encryption in transit: HTTPS/TLS on all connections
- •Encryption at rest: Mobile number & email address
- •Password-free login: Short-lived OTPs with rate limits
- •Expiring links: Signed, time-limited media URLs
- •Role-based access: Strict access logging for staff
- •Reviews: Regular backups and security evaluations
If a personal data breach is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify the competent authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of it and inform affected users without undue delay.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your account and data (available directly in the app under Settings → Delete account)
- Export your data in a portable format (JSON or PDF)
- Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. to digest emails or optional profile fields) without affecting earlier processing
- Object or restrict processing based on our legitimate interests
- Be notified of any breach affecting your data
- Complain to Egypt's Personal Data Protection Center or, if you are in the EU, your local data protection authority
9. Age
The Service is for business use by people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete the account.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The effective date at the top shows the latest version.
